Merrie Ol' Tudor England

Bringing History to Life beyond the Classroom

Banner_Tudor1.png

Five hundred years ago the world was a very different place.  We were only just realizing that America existed, and had no idea about Australia.  England and Scotland were separate kingdoms, each with their own royal family.  Welcome to the early modern era of the Tudors.

What might the day include?

Whether dressed as a prince or a pauper, Tudor days are a great opportunity for children to come to school in costume.  The emphasis is on having FUN, using artefacts, role-play, and games to teach the history of the Tudors in an engaging and meaningful way.  A day in "Merrie England" can include any or all of these topics:

o  The Wars of the Roses.

Kings and Queens.

Dressing for the Court.

Daily life of the rich and poor.

An Englishman's home.

Health and hygiene.

Food and feasting.

The English renaissance, entertainment and Shakespeare's world.

Crime and punishment.
The age of explorers, ships and the New World.
The Armada.
